Violin + Viola Lessons in Collegedale, Tennessee
Payment & Cancellation Policy
Monthly payments are due during the first week of each month before or at the first lesson. Payment options include check, cash, or cashapp. If you need to cancel a lesson, please communicate this 24 hours in advance. Lessons canceled with proper notice can be rescheduled if permitted by my availability. I cannot, however, guarantee that this will always be possible. Lessons that are missed without any notice are not refundable. If the student is late to a lesson, I am not obligated to give a refund for missed time or extend the lesson past its regular end time. In the case of sickness or travel, online lessons are an option, but they are only for these circumstances and are not to be the norm. If I have to cancel a lesson for an unforeseen circumstance, we will find a time to reschedule.
Additionally, do not come to lessons if you or your child is sick.

Lesson Expectations
Students should arrive several minutes prior to their scheduled lesson time. In the few minutes before their lesson, they can quietly observe the last few minutes of the previous lesson while taking their instrument out.
It is necessary for the parent to stay and be attentive throughout the lesson unless otherwise discussed. Parents must take notes during the lesson so that they are able to assist their child during practice at home. Please ask any questions you have about at-home practice.
Parents can ask questions, but I ask that parents do not interfere with the lesson unless it is to address a student’s poor behavior. There should only be one teacher at a time.
Siblings are very much welcome, but please do not allow them to become a distraction during the lesson.
Lessons are 30 or 45 minutes each, but if I sense that the student is simply unable to go any further, I may need to end the lesson a few minutes short.
At Home Expectations
Parent-led daily practice and listening is required. Parents are responsible for scheduling practice and listening times. Parents are responsible for practicing with their child unless the teacher decides that the student is ready to practice on their own. If students practice less than five days a week for more than three weeks, we will need to discuss and troubleshoot.
Recitals
Recitals are a wonderful way for young violinists to grow their musicianship, learn to perform for others, learn valuable ensemble skills, and further solidify their comfort with the music they know. Because of the great value that recitals have in the violin journey, students are required to attend at least one recital each semester.
Feel free to contact me throughout the week with any questions or concerns.
